WORLD CUP GOLD FOR JESS FOX IN KRAKOW

Three time Olympic medallist Jessica Fox has once again delivered results on the international stage in the lead up to Paris 2024, paddling away with the gold medal in the women’s kayak final at the ICF World Cup 3 in Krakow, Poland.

The fourth World Cup medal for Fox in three weeks, Fox continues to build towards the upcoming 2024 Games.

With the program returning to business as usual after flooding in Prague last weekend, Fox qualified for the final in fourth place after placing second in her initial heat.

A blistering run in the final saw her finish ahead of Maialen Chourraut in second (ESP) by just under one second and Ria Sribar (USA) in third.

“It’s been a tough weekend but the third World Cup really fell into place for me there in the Kayak and I’m really happy with the way I raced,” said Fox.

“It’s a great way to finish off this first block of World Cup racing, we’ve really built into it over the past few weeks.

“We’ve got a bit of a break until Paris and an opportunity to get some good training in on the course, so overall I’m just really happy with how the build up to the Games has been going,” finished Fox.

The Aussies are back in action tonight in the Canoe competition before the kayak cross officially begins on Sunday.
