AUSTRALIAN CANOE SLALOM TEAM RETURN TO WORLD CUP CIRCUIT AFTER PARIS 2024

Following Australia’s best ever results at an Olympic Games at Paris 2024, the Australian Canoe Slalom Team will return to international competition this weekend.

With three World Cup events raced prior to the Paris Olympics, the international field will head to Ivrea, Italy for the fourth World Cup event of the season, before the World Cup Final in La Seu, Spain next weekend.

Australia’s 10-strong team will contest the event, including Paris 2024 Olympians Noemie Fox, Tim Anderson and Tristan Carter.

Both Anderson and Carter achieved personal best World Cup finishes prior to the Olympic Games, and will be looking to continue their strong form, while Noemie Fox will race for the first time since becoming the first ever Olympic gold medalist in Women’s Kayak Cross.

Kate Eckhardt will make her World Cup return, replacing Olympic gold medalist Jessica Fox, while Junior World Championships bronze medalists Codie Davidson will make her World Cup debut in the Kayak Cross, replacing Georgina Collins.

Georgie O’Callaghan, Kaylen Bassett, Mark Crosbee, Lucien Delfour and George Pankhurst will also don the green and gold for Australia this weekend.

The 2024 ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup 4 will get underway on Thursday 12 September and run until Sunday 15 June.

Racing gets underway at 10pm on Thursday 12 September with the Men’s and Women’s Kayak heats.
